Brief: Planning, creation and implementation of a new website celebrating the life of Victoria Woodhull. The website will become a hub for those interested in Victoria and a repository of vetted sources about her life and story.
Background: Victoria Woodhull was the first woman to run for President of the United States and the first woman to operate a Wall Street brokerage firm. Interest in Victoria's life was rekindled during the 2016 Presidential election. The Robbins Hunter Museum includes a cuckoo-style clock of Victoria that chimes on the hour.
Audience: Scholars, researchers, activists and those generally interested in Victoria Woodhull's life.
Our design solution was inspired by historic typefaces of the 1870s and duotone photographs. The final site includes historic photographs and illustrations of Victoria.
